Had planned a 800km day of smooth twisties but things kinda went sideways and we called it quits at @500km, well 2 of us did 🙂
Ready for the road trip? .. . . let’s roll.

Ready for the road trip? .. . . let’s roll.

What are we talking about here?
C2C = coast to coast = Pacific Ocean to Japan Sea
Touge = A pass between two adjacent territories traversing some sort of natural geographical barrier = 峠
Grenade = a small package with a big punch!
So, a relatively short ride (compared to an ironbutt) from the Pacific Ocean to Japan Sea via as many twisty bits as can be strung together. All in a day!

Another great early Sunday Squirt! JamesK joined the run this week. @400km with just a few spits of rain. The roads were nowhere as quiet as last week but they were still relatively quiet. (more…)
WHO said it was ok to roll, checked the Geiger stations and forecast wind direction/weather and all was favorable. So fired up the FuzZ and went searching for X-Men powers.
No-one on the roads and great weather 5-12degC.

Met up with JamesK early and went touge hunting. James was on fire and when I headed home, happy with 8 touges for the morning, he went out and had Okutama for an afternoon snack!

Well, they say the best coach is the one that keeps pushing you, stretching your limits and bringing back the skills you’d lost through inaction. (more…)
Well… . . It’s been a while and um… . .
Set the alarm for a 6:30 wake up but woke up at 5 and couldn’t drift off again. 30 minutes later I gave up the fake slumber and got to it. By 6:30 we were on the road, under a gorgeous dawn sky, headed for Izu. FZ1 & I that is. (more…)

Lugnuts, Bambi and I went and hooked up with EasternBeaver in Shimizu and went on one of his wonderous backroad tours. If you haven’t been out EB’s way yet, DO IT!

Fantastic place to ride and although I rode 6days there, only these scratchings have been etched. No time for the pen in a place like Shikoku!

So today it’s the sunday-squirt write up.
All of us have a favorite road, set of roads or a route that includes some cool roads. Kantonians know the Izu skyline and most know the west Izu run or the Doshi-Fuji Skyline-469 trifecta and I had a great run around the back of Asama-yama, in Nagano, on a seemingly endless roller coaster of bitchin backroads a few months back. The unfortunate thing is some of these roads are too far away and others are just too well known by all the wrong people.
So, where do you go for a good Sunday ride?
