Having ridden coast to coast several different ways, endured some expressway marathons, scrabbled over and around a surfeit of crumbling mountain passes and even risked life and limb on a frozen northern adventure, the bar was just about high enough for one of those ‘…one day…’ rides. Yep, it was about time for a whopper.
This one goes a ways back and definitely needed some working up to. But, boy o boy is it a day dream filler!

Been through a LOT of socks and found plenty that fit well, were comfy and didn’t cost an arm and a leg. Some did cost a bunch and some just didn’t fit right. One thing they all had in common was that they didn’t accomplish the task of wicking away sweat when things got active. Why’s that so important? Well, no one likes soggy socks and prune toes, right?

Well, where to start?
Where can you tour in December? No…Where does one want to tour in December? Mmm,… Where does someone like JamesK go touring in December? Better but… Where shouldn’t one go touring in December? Yep, that’ll about do it!

Climbing a pass the other night and the throttle died. Got it going again but the throttle wouldn’t roll smooth or past 20% without a LOT of muscle.
A quick inspection after crawling home didn’t show much. But the Rizoma cable retainer is looking…worn. Was late so left it there.
Began slowly but has picked up pace thanks to JamesK and his cave of wrenching wonders!
1st the exhaust was slipped out and with some creative jacking and wedging, she was on blocks. Then the junk came off
The -06 Over Racing FZ1 that won its class at the 06 Suzuka 8 hour is being retired and the parts have come up in local auction.
Ridden by Makoto Suzuki and Hiroshi Toyoda, and running in the XF1 Formula Extreme class against R1s, Fireblades, etc.

Last minute, got fired up after an odd day at work and decided on a night run. Ended up hitting the road alone at 9:30pm.
Being chilly out with winter creeping in and sub 10°C showing for the hills, decided to don some heat. Yep, time to drag the Powerlet heated liner and gloves out of summer hibernation. Dig how easy this gear is. No maintenance and always ready.
