If only all riding days could be like this!

Hakone to Yamanakako was a steady 5-7°c. Yamanakako to Enzan was 3-5°. Later in the day up on the 292 at over 2000m it was 9°. Between the cold morning and high altitudes it was warm, 15-22°.

Roads are clean and clear.

The 292 is still closed from Kusatsu to Manza so we detoured to the Manza Highway. I’m up here until tomorrow so will be checking that each day.

Be prepared to detour to the Manza Highway.

Let’s go with the picture story. Grab a drink, kick back and enjoy the view/read.

Got to the start before sunrise and it was perfect spring riding weather so didn’t wait for the sun. Didn’t see the sun until the Hakone-Kontaro Road by which time it was well up and bright.

Cold but dry and Fuji was spectacular!

Met Oyvind in Enzan and we powered on enjoying the great conditions and only stopped to change gear and eat. That’s Mt Asama above.

The 292 is still closed between Kusatsu and Manza.

A white wonderland atop Manza though. Being a regular work day and the Kusatsu side being closed, there was hardly anyone up there. 👍

Boom!

To be honest, I’d expected higher but it had already been open 5 days…

Oyvind spotted a yeti!

Hairpin monkeys. No not the one on the orange machine, the one’s in the background.

Made it to the coast for a beautiful calm sunset. Epic as always.
