How’s the Route?

We’re a week away and look to have around 20 joining the first Mountain Day Twistybutt!

Some route and navigation aid was sent earlier so check your emails.

As some of you know, I’ve been out to check the route twice and gotta say it’s a challenge.

A great cool section is the Minami Alps Eco Line (Actually it’s the Minami Alps Park Line). Click the pic below for a vid and it’s worth watching the whole run to get a feel for the road.

Long route Riders, you have a special challenge after snaking up the Oi River to Hatanagi Lake at almost 1km above sea level.

Can you get a pick from the top of the horshoe bridge? It’s a rare shot that few riders can claim to have. Watch out though, the bridge can be slippery and the road up there and back is far from the best of the day. It is scenic though, especially the bridges.

A decent lunch spot seems a mystery so if anyone has a suggestion, spread the word.

I have eaten here at Ikkyu and it was decent. Soba set was fair. Best part was it has a nice outdoor area.

With a week to go, it’s time to start those salutations to the Weather Gods. Do what you gotta do Twistybutts!
